Khichdi
Carrot Rice:
Ingredients:
Moong dal-
½ Cup
Rice – 1 Cup
Carrot- 1
Green Peas
– Few
Green Chilies
-3
Sliced
Onion – ½ cup
Curry
leaves
Cumin seed
– 1 tea spoon
Oil
Salt
Garam
masala powder – 1 tea spoon (optional)
Process:
Step 1: Soak Rice and moong dal for about
15 minutes (optional Step)
Step 2: Place pressure cooker on Stove and
add two teaspoons of oil and let it heat
Step3: Once heated add cumin seeds and
allow it to pop.
Step 4: Add onions and sauté them and
leave till the onions turn golden brown in color.
Step 5: Now add carrots saute them for two
minutes.
Step 6: Add green peas, curry leaves,
green chilies and soaked rice and moon dal. Sauté them for about 3 minutes or
so.
Step 7: Add water (1:2 ratio i.e. one cup
of rice = 2 cups of water).
Step 8: Add garam masala powder (optional)
and salt. Taste the water after adding salt.
Step 9: Place the lid and wait for 3
whistles.
Step 10: After its done let it cool and
plate it.
Enjoy the tasty and healthy Khichdi Carrot
